We have Worship Services every Sunday at 11 a.m. Sunday School classes begin at 9:30 on Sunday morning. We are very involved with different mission groups, such as FACES (Farmville Area Community Emergency Services), Meals on Wheels, Madeline's House (local domestic abuse shelter), Habitat and the Farmville Area Rescue Mission. We also support the Ministerial Association's emergency assistance through financial contributions and a furniture program.

Piedmont Senior Resources is in need of fans and air conditioning units to help the needy senior citizens in our area. If you would like to contribute, please call them at 434-767-5588; or you can drop off the fan or AC unit at their offices at 1413 South Main Street in Farmville (College Shoppes), or here at the church.
Have you ever had a single goal, that you gave everything you had to attain, that you had a laser-like focus on? Most of us have had that experience, or are still in the midst of. Do we think that is a good thing or a bad thing? Something that demonstrates our obsessive- compulsive side? Or something that shows that we are determined. On this Fourth of July week we will start off by hearing about Jesus' resoluteness toward Jerusalem and what that might mean for us. Worship starts at 11 a.m. Come join us!
What are you doing here? Not just, what are you doing on Facebook (though that may be a good question for you), but what are you doing here, wherever "here" is for you? And where is God in the middle of "here"? We have a lot of Scripture passages to look at this week, especially as we examine where "here" is for us individually and as a church in the 21st century. Worship starts at 11 a.m., and we would love to have you join us.
We have some special events planned over the next two months. In addition to our 175th anniversary in August, we will have a seminar on July 17th to benefit caregivers. Counselor Pat Thorne will be here to share with us "Camino Wisdom: Lessons for the Caregiver's Journey." Knowing that taking care of a loved one is a pilgrimage, Pat will share her experiences of being on the Camino de Santiago in Spain pilgrimage. It will be held in our Fellowship Hall, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. This should be a great time for those who are taking care of someone to come and have their own souls restored.

Change of plans - we will be worshipping inside today. It's just drizzling but the combination of that and the cooler temperatures would make those of us with arthritis feel miserable. The Holy Spirit will find us, anyway!

It looks like the weather is going to cooperate - so we will have our Outdoor Pentecost service tomorrow at 11 a.m., next door at the Farmville Community Marketplace! Right after worship we will have our first Lemonade on the Lawn, but it will be indoors, in our Fellowship Hall. All are invited!
This Sunday is the Day of Pentecost, the third great holy day of the Christian calendar. We celebrate Pentecost by having our worship service next door at the Farmville Community Marketplace. We are still hoping to do that, even though the weather forecast is for rain all weekend. For now, the outdoor service with communion is on but we will keep you posted. As always, worship will start at 11 a.m.
An upcoming seminar on something which has become an epidemic in our area. If you haven't been afflicted by this - and we hope you have not - you probably know someone who has.
Rachel was always very good about reminding us who we are, and what we were called to be.
What's the big deal about unity? In these days of everyone speaking their own mind without thought to how it may affect someone else, is unity really all that important? We will hear what Jesus says about that in his High Priestly Prayer (John 17:20-26), and what might have to say about our own time. Worship starts at 11 a.m., and we would love to have you join us!
For Memorial Day Sunday - this Sunday - we will have the Rev. Mark Flores back to share The Word with us. Mark is a chaplain at the McGuire Veterans Hospital in Richmond, so he has a special insight into this special time. Worship begins at 11 a.m.
This Sunday we will hear Jesus' commandment - "Love one another." Then we will celebrate a lunch together and share stories of how this church through the years has lived that out. Come join us! Worship starts at 11 a.m., and the lunch will follow immediately.
Tonight is not only our Theology on Tap at Third Street Brewing Company; it is also Longwood Senior Night. We’ll give it a try, but please note there will be a crowd.
This Sunday we will begin our celebration of the 175th anniversary of FPC as a chartered congregation. We will have worship with a sense of celebration and thanksgiving for the years we have celebrated God's presence in this place. After worship we will have a covered dish lunch in the Fellowship Hall. Following lunch we will have a time to share the stories we remember or have been told down through the years. A great time - come join us!
Our monthly Theology on Tap meetings was rescheduled for this Thursday, May 16th. So we hope to see you at the Third Street Brewing Company, at 6:30 p.m., for a time of sharing and fellowship.

We can't get both of these videos into one message so we will have to split them - this is the first part of a message that Paula Prouty and Tom Robinson put together for the May 4th meeting of Presbytery. It is about our furniture program with Green Front, where they give us furniture from their customers so that we can pass them on to those in need. Dickie Cralle was the main force behind this, and many people have benefitted.
